Our Outreach Programme serves as an educational facility for the work of the Howletts and Port Lympne Wild Animal Parks and The Aspinall Foundation.
The Outreach programme is available for schools and events in Kent and beyond.*
Free School Assemblies
An Education Officer will visit your school to talk at your assembly for up to half an hour. The talk will be about the history of Howletts & Port Lympne, including how the late John Aspinall started the Parks, the conservation work we do and a little about some of our animals. The talk can be shortened to fit in with the length of your assembly.
As well as the free assembly talk we can also offer an outreach visit which consists of the following:
Outreach Visit
An Education Officer can visit your school for a morning or afternoon session (approximately 2 hours). The Officer can give presentations to classes or year groups, as decided by you. These presentations can meet the attainment targets of the Science National Curriculum, including energy, conservation, animal habitats, adaptations, healthy teeth and bones and micro organisms. We can also tailor sessions to a subject of your choice.
Pupils also have the opportunity to handle Revenue & Customs seized artefacts such as elephant tusks, rhino horns and furs that meet some of the PSHE attainment targets.
The cost for an outreach session is £50.
