Dutton Forshaw
Local company, Dutton Forshaw have handed over the keys to three jeeps to assist the Aspinall Foundation to continue its work with endangered species.  The Jeep Grand Cherokee, will help vet, Jane Hopper get around the parks to tend to animals in need of care and attention whilst the other two vehicles will play a major part in movement between both parks and within the parks by many of the Aspinall Foundation’s staff.The overall value of the three jeeps amounts to over £50,000 which represents a great saving for the Foundation.

Smith Medical
Lions, tigers and monkeys will all be given blood pressure readings from a monitor donated to the parks by Smith Medical, based in Hythe.  For the first time, the veterinary department at the parks will be able to take blood pressure readings from the animals, a very useful diagnostic tool in the diagnosis of early cases of heart disease, and circulatory disorders. The monitor – a mini tor – is also a very sophisticated anaesthetic monitoring machine, and is far more advanced and more accurate than the equipment the Park previously used, which will lead to a better standard of care for the animals.
